How to Get More People to Click Your Links
So you’ve created great content, and now for the payoff, getting the reader or viewer to click on a link that takes them to your offer, whether that’s a product, opt-in or other spot in your marketing funnel. The trick though is crafting links people are compelled to click on. Easier said than done!
Seems there’s more to this than simply hyperlinking “Click here” and expecting them all to show up and shower us with money, emails and more. You really have to coax these things out of them. (You didn’t think it was that easy, did you?)
Let’s take a look at 5 tips to help you get them to click your links!
5 Tips for getting more clicks from your links!
Say something with your link text – Link text is valuable in the sense that you have the chance to sell or persuade one more time. Rather than opting for a totally vanilla “Click Here”, try getting much more specific and benefit-oriented in your link text. You’ll be rewarded with many more clicks!
Make every link serve a purpose – Don’t link to any other page without a clear purpose. This means to either an offer, resource or other content that will benefit your audience. (and you!) This is particularly true for landing pages, where you hopefully have a singular purpose for any links on the page.
Know color psychology as it applies to links – Certain colors evoke certain responses. In regards to web links, there are colors you’ll both want to use and others to avoid. For instance, blue is a major trust color. (Any wonder why most links are blue?)
Don’t promise what you aren’t delivering – If you think it’s a great idea to get them to click on your links by using techniques like “clickbait”, think again. You’ll have broken any trust you may have had, and be rewarded with massive bounce rates.
Use strategic placement – Understand that the placement of your links is very important. Almost always on a landing page you’ll want one link “above the fold” on the page, and include others every scroll or two. After all, the objective is to get the click, right!
